PURPOSE:To enable a paper feeder to accurately send paper for a printer, a plotter or the like, by pinch-conveying the paper with driving wheels and idle wheels, whose peripheral surfaces have protrusions and recesses that have a regular pattern and can be engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:Driving wheels 2 are provided on a shaft 1 and rotated synchronously with the shaft. U-shaped members 4 are provided on a shaft 3. Idle wheels 6 are supported with shafts at the open tips of the U-shaped members 4. When paper is pinched between protrusions and recesses 24, 34 on the peripheral surfaces of the driving wheels 2 and the idle wheels 6, the protrusions and the recesses are engaged with each other. As a turning force is applied from a driver to the driving wheels 2 through the shaft 1 to rotate the driving wheels, the engagement is continuously effected to make numerous protrusions and recesses on the paper 8 and firmly bite and support it. In that case, the driving wheels 2 can be reversed to engage the protrusions 24, 34 with those of the paper 8 to prevent it from meandering, to convey the paper accurately. |
