摘要 PURPOSE:To maintain a high rate of heat transfer with respect to a wide range of thermal load by a method wherein narrow and long grooves are provided on thin plates each forming a surface layer of the heat exchange wall and openings passing through the bottoms of the grooves are provided so that the grooves of the thin plates communicate with one another through the openings. CONSTITUTION:A number of the parallel narrow and long grooves 12 are provided on the thin plate 11 which forms itself the surface layer of the heat exchange wall and a number of openings 13 passing through the thin plate 11 are provided in the bottoms of the grooves 12. Then two of the thin plates 11 and 11' are laid one above another to become an upper and a lower layer so that the grooves 12 and 12' of the thin plates 11 and 11' communicate with one another through the number of openings 13' in the lower thin plate 11'. With the above structure, the grooves (cavities) 12 of the upper layer works more effectively than the grooves (cavities) 12' of the lower layer for increasing the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchange wall at the time when the thermal load is low and when the thermal load is high, it is possible to maintain the heat exchange efficiency high through the cavities 12 of the upper layer.
