PURPOSE:To attain the reciprocating azimuth record and reproduction by setting the number of tracks of two of erasing, recording and reproducing magnetic heads larger than the desired number by >=2 tracks and unifying these heads with a prescribed space secured among those heads. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 1, a reproducing head 2 and an erasing head 3 have azimuth angle theta and track pitch P, and at the same time spaces A and B among gap surfaces of those magnetic heads are set as A=P.Tantheta and B= P.Tantheta, respectively. Then the magnetic head is tilted by a mechanical means by an azimuth angle theta to the traveling directin of a magnetic tape 3. Thus the correspondence is secured between tracks (b), (c), (d) and (e) of the head 1 and tracks (a), (b), (c) and (d) of the head 2 with no shift. The tape 3 is removed in its coming-back route and then loaded again to a tape driving mechanism to be set the tape upside down. Then the head 2 is reversed by 2 to perform the reverse azimuth recording. Thus a track shift due to the azimuth angles of those three magnetic heads is not produced. As a result, the record/reproduction is possible after the assured erasion. |
