The invention relates to a new and improved cargo vehicle intended for transporting elongate objects, e.g. timber. The frame 1 for this vehicle is carried by a front and a rear set of wheels 2 and 3, respectively, of which the rear 3, e.g. a bogie, is displaceable on the frame in the longitudinal direction of same, while the frame itself carries a number of load-carrying crossmembers 4, of which at least a part are displaceable relative to each other on the vehicle frame in its longitudinal direction by means of a manoeuvring means 5, e.g. a pressure cylinder. This vehicle is characterized in that the manoeuvring means 5 is placed to be operative between the vehicle frame 1 and the rear set of wheels 3, between which and at least some of the load-carrying crossmembers 4, displaceable on the vehicle frame, manoeuvrable coupling means 6 are active, firstly as dogs for providing the movements of the load-carrying crossmembers, and secondly for the fixing of the set of wheels relative to said crossmembers. <IMAGE> |
