PURPOSE:To prevent a fault that is caused when no access is possible to a file or when a directory is broken on a disk by providing a means which check whether the loaded disk is new or old or a means with which a user can deliver an input. CONSTITUTION:A user loads a disk 2 to a driver 1 and pushes a switch 4 before a command for use of the disk 2 is fed to a computer 3. The contents of an information holding means 5 are read when an access is started to a file stored in the disk 2. If the information is ''1'', the directory information of the disk 2 are all read into a memory in the computer 3 and preserved there. Then the contents of the means 5 are rewritten to ''0''. On the contrary, the contents of the means 5 are ''0'' after reading, it is not needed to read in the directory information. |
