PURPOSE:To measure quickly the track position of a magnetic head core with high accuracy down to <=1mu and high reliability just by controlling the focus of a microscope when the measurement starts and therefore eliminating the focusing control during measurement. CONSTITUTION:A video magnetic head 20 contains a magnetic head core 21 fixed to a single surface 22a of a holder 22. Then a lever 23 is turned up to its vertical position while the head 20 is kept on a holding surface 4a. Thus the head 20 is set after press-fixing the surfaces 22a to the head holding surface 4a by means of a pressure rod 26. Then a lens barrel 6 is moved up and down to place the focus on a track part 21a of a head core 21. Under such conditions, the barrel 6 is locked. Then a micrometer mechanism 12 is operated to push up a supporting plate 8. Thus a glass plate 7 is moved slightly up and down to set a standard scale line 10 at the focus of the barrel 6. Under such conditions, a glass plate up-down movement mechanism 11 is locked. Then a measurement start switch is turned on, and a motor-driven micrometer 31 works. Then a mobile stage 3 moves toward an arrow X1. |
