PURPOSE:To enlarge a forging dimension range in case of forming a nut by inserting a base material tip for forming an end face into a through-hole of a die nib, forming it by a punch nib, and pushing a die nib, when forming the nut by forging from a wire rod. CONSTITUTION:A base material tip 10 whose cut face is flattened by the previous process is inserted into a through-hole 11 of a die nib 6 and is held. The head part of the base material is formed by advancing a punch nib 15, and by advancing it further, the die nib 6 is pushed in against a spring 9, and the base material 10 becomes full in a die 16. When the punch nib 15 moves backward, the die nib 6 is returned to its original position. A formed nut 16 is discharged by projecting a fixing rod 12. The base material 10 is held exactly by the through-hole 11, is bulged by the punch nib 15 first, becomes stable, and thereafter, becomes full in the die 16 when the die nib 6 moves backward, therefore, a fiber flow is made to uniform. Also, since a thick nut can be made from a thin wire rod, too, the application range of a forging machine is widened. |
