PURPOSE:To achieve a quick and handy determination of an antigen (antibody) in a sample by making an antigen (antibody) labeled by a rare earth metal complex compound long in the fluorescent life and a biological liquid sample react with a analysis element having a porous medium layer having an antibody (antigen) immobilized thereon. CONSTITUTION:An antigen (antibody) is labeled by 1mus-1ms a complex compound with the fluorescent life such as benzoyl acetonate of rare earth metal such as Sm and Eu. On the other hand, an antibody for an antigen (an antigen for an antibody) is adsorbed by or bonded to a plastic fine particle having a hydrophilic group to prepare an analysis element having a porous medium layer adhered to an inactivated transparent plastic film. A liquid containing a biological sample and said labeled antigen (antibody) is dropped on the analysis element to fluorescence emitted by a label of the labeled antigen (antibody) bonded to the element in a competition reaction between the labeled antigen (antibody) and the antigen (antibody) in a sample as due to a reaction after the extinction of a fluorescence emitted from a excitation light source, a serum or the like thereby enabling the determination of a trace quantity of an antigen (antibody) at a high accuracy. |
