PURPOSE:To perform proper correction of static convergence by a method wherein both side electron beam transit axes in the main lens part are made to deflect toward the center respectively in order to check the distortion and aberration of the main lenses. CONSTITUTION:Cathode KR, KG and KB, grids G1, G2, G3 and G4 are prepared while KR, KB, G1 and G2 constitute the triple-pole part M and G3 and G4 constitute the main lens part N. The electron beam transit axes X4R, X4G and X4B of G4 are set up concentrically against three electron beam transit axes of G3. Further, both side electron beam transit axes XMR and XMB in the triple- pole part M corresponding to both side transit axes X4R and X4B are prepared while being deflected by a deflection amount (d) toward the central transit axes X4G and XMG respectively. In this the distortion and aberration of the main lens part is checked thus enabling to properly correct the static convergence without deteriorating a focusing characteristic. |
