PURPOSE:To improve a drivability and fuel consumption, by determing an asynchronous fuel injection quantity in response to an engine speed or a synchronous fuel injection quantity during an idling, in an engine adapted to effect the asynchronous fuel injection only during accelerating drive. CONSTITUTION:The outputs from an intake valve sensor 24 and a crank case angle sensor 44 are utilized to obtain a basic fuel injection quantity in an ECU50 during an engine operation. The basic fuel injection quantity thus obtained is corrected by the output of throttle sensor 20, a water temperature sensor 46 and the like for determing a synchronous fuel injection timing. Then, an injector 32 is caused to output a synchronous fuel injection signal in synchronization with the engine speed. When the varying speed of throttle valve 18 opening amount exceeds a predetermined value during an acceleration, a predetermined correcting factor is obtained by gradually damping an initial value obtained in response to an engine r.p.m. during a fast idling operation. The correcting factor is utilized to cause an injector 32 to output an asychronous injection signal in response to the asychronous fuel injection timing. |
