PURPOSE:To make a cooling means smaller and to reduce the amount of cooling water by cooling filamentary resin in jetting mixed cooling fluid composed of cooling water and air. CONSTITUTION:Mixed cooling fluid consisting of cooling (hot) water and air at a volumetric rate of, for example, 1:1 is supplied to a nozzle 25 on a die side through a cooling passage 27 on the die side and to a nozzle 33 of a cutter side through a cooling passage 28 on the cutter side and ejected from these nozzles 25, 33 to the cutting portion made by a die 6 and a cutter 32. When the cutter 32 is rotated in the cutting direction and an extruder 2 extrudes resin, resin is extruded from holes 20 of the die 6 in the linear form and the linear resin is cut by the cutter 32... in the pellet form. At this cutting time, since resin is cooled by mixed cooling fluid ejected from both nozzles 25, 33 and the disk 5 of the die 6 is cooled by each passage 23... the resin is cooled to the temperature suitable for cutting. |
