An edge support for a backrest and/or seat cushion preferably of vehicle seats comprises pivotable tongues (3) or flaps along the edges of the backrest (1) and seat cushion (2), enlarging the support surface of the backrest/seat cushion. In this invention, the backrest (1) or seat cushion (2) is limited by a tube profile (6) at least along the edge or edges where one or more tongues (3) are situated. The outer surface of the tube profile, where the tongue (3) is situated, has one or more openings (7). A tube sleeve (9) fixed to the tongue (3) allows it to rotate around the tube profile. A hose (10), which can expand from internal pressure, is situated in the tube profile (6) in the area of the opening or openings (7).<IMAGE> |
