<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by a method wherein the smooth engagement and disengagement of a free wheel is brought to realize even under the condition that a free wheel rotational frequency sensor is out of order in a vehicle, the start of which is performed by utilizing the energy stored in a free device during running. CONSTITUTION:When an electromagnetic coil 18 is energized and consequently a clutch 19 is attracted and joined to a free wheel 16, a crankshaft 13 and the free wheel 16 are constituted so that, on one occasion, the rotation of the crankshaft 13 is transmitted to the free wheel 16 and, on the other occasion, the energy (rotation) stored in the free wheel 16 is transmitted to the crankshaft 13. In addition, when the output of a subtracting circuit 45, which calculates the difference between the rotational frequencies of an engine and of the free wheel at the time just when the clutch 19 is engaged, exceeds a predetermined value, a comparator 46 issues a signal telling that a free wheel rotational frequency sensor (not shown) is out of order. And yet, a system is constituted so that a free wheel rotational frequency false signal, which simulates a damping characteristic produced by a false signal generator circuit 41, is outputted to the energizing control circuit (not shown in fig.) of the electromagnetic coil 18 at this time.</p> |
