PURPOSE:To improve the inspection accuracy by always obtaining a reference level corresponding to an actual picture pattern despite a change of the form, the surface state or the illumination state of an object to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A CPU2 decides the picture pattern of an object to be inspected and performs the automatic dimming control and transmission of data to an output device 8 based on the quantized data stored in a video memory 5. A camera 3 is fixed in a region to be inspected and picks up a reference object and the object to be inspected to deliver the image pickup signal to an A/D converter. The illumination light quantity of an illuminator 10 is controlled by a dimming device 9 on the basis of an indication of the CPU2. The data quantized by a CPU1 is converted into a display signal by a D/A converter 6 and sent to a monitor CRT7. |
