PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-film magnetic head which has less head wear while improving, specially, joint strength and yield by forming magnetic metallic films on two nonmagnetic substrates and soldering both magnetic films surfaces together oppositely with a metallic material. CONSTITUTION:A ''Sendust'' film 2 is formed by sputtering as a magnetic core on one surface of a crystallized glass substrate 1. Silver solder 3 is vapor- deposited on the surface of the film 2 on the substrate and then heated under vacuum to join two substrates 1 and 1 while films 2 and 2 face each other. Those core half bodies A and B are joined together with a gap spacer 4 of SiO2 by using low-fusion-point glass to obtain a thin-film magnetic head. The films 2 are protected by the substrates 1, thereby obtaining the thin-film head at high yield with large joint strength by the silver solder 3 while separation in work is prevented. |
