1. Apparatus for opening and closing gates having a leaf (1), which is movable between two positions, which are substantially at right angles to each other, particularly between a substantially vertical position and a substantially horizontal position, wherein the leaf (1) constitutes a connecting rod of a slider-crank mechanism, which has a substantially vertically extending crosshead guide (2) and a stationary main crank bearing (3), which is disposed adjacent to the upper end of the gate opening (4), and a carriage (5), is provided, which is coupled to and serves to actuate the leaf (1) and is guided particularly along a straight line, preferably substantially parallel to the leaf (1) when it is in its open position, and said carriage is connected by a lever, which is pivoted to the carriage, and an interposed linkage, characterized in that the lever (6) which is pivoted to the carriage (5) is coupled to the leaf (1) by a four-bar linkage (7), which comprises wo cranks (8, 9), which are pivoted at one end to the leaf (1) and at the other end to the lever (6). |
