The domestic storage and metering appliance, especially for coffee powder consists of a storage container having a funnel-shaped outlet on which is arranged a metering element seated in a housing and rotatable about a horizontal axis. The metering element (1) is designed as a rotary-slide drum (2) having at least two compartments (3) of differing size and open towards the circumference of the rotary slide. In the region of the outlet orifice (4), on the side of the rotary slide, which corresponds in size at most to the orifice size of the smallest compartment (3'), a blocking slide (5') is arranged which closes or opens the orifice (4). <IMAGE>
