On installation of pacemaker electrodes they are laid around the pacemaker in the shape of a loop in order to achieve tensile relief. At the transition from the part having relatively low flexibility surrounding the connection plug to the much more flexible jacket of the coil a bend frequently forms, and this represents a higher stress on the coil. In order to avoid this bend the electrode is designed, according to the invention, so that the part surrounding the connection plug is already pre-bent during production or that the Shore hardness of the part surrounding the connection plug decreases, continuously or stepwise, from a relatively high value at the plug end to a lower value at the other end.
