PURPOSE:To prevent a rotating magnetic disk from flopping and to perform stable high-precision and high-density recording by providing an auxiliary magnetic pole with a convex curved surface and main magnetic pole supports which have a concave curved surface facing the convex curved surface, and arranging a main magnetic pole in the opposition space formed of both curved surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Main magnetic pole supports 34 made of nonmagnetic bodies for supporting the main magnetic pole 25 having a high-magnetic-permeability thin film 23 sandwiched between nonmagnetic substrates 24 have a front and a rear flat part 28 and 29 nearly in parallel to the rotating disk 21 and also have a concave curved surface between both flat parts; and the main magnetic pole is arranged in the concave curved surface. An auxiliary magnetic pole 26, on the other hand is made of high magnetic permeable material; the convex curved surface 31 of the auxiliary magnetic pole formed facing the main magnetic pole front end 30 and concave curved surface and the front and rear flat parts 32 and 33 of the auxiliary magnetic pole which face the front and rear flat parts 28 and 29 of the main magnetic pole nearly in parallel are arranged to form the space at the opposition part of both curved surface. |
