The screen-printing machine possesses a doctor unit (19) having a single doctor (28) which is pivotable about an axis (112) lying transversely to its direction of movement and which serves for both the "flooding" and the "doctoring" operations. For raising and pivoting the doctor (28) between two limiting positions there is a slide (78) having a rack insert (79) which interacts with a gearwheel (80) and which rotates a wheel (81) which, by means of an eccentric pin, displaces a rod (83) vertically for the raising and lowering of the doctor. Fastened to the slide (78) is a vertical guide rod (126) guiding a spring-prestressed sleeve (86), the head (87) of which slides along a guide face (136) of the doctor rubber holder (26) and tilts the latter from one of its pivoting limiting positions into the other. <IMAGE>
