Inert substance based on wood pulp wastes of any type, and its preparation. Relating to a method for the use of wood pulp wastes of any type, which are sterilised by a heat treatment at high temperature. Comminution thereof into pieces then takes place in a mechanical treatment. The pieces are then chemically treated, to be precise with a potassium salt and then with a soluble silicate. Inert substance which can be used as a substrate in cultivation and agriculture, and as a basic constituent in fertilizers.
