Bushing for measuring electrodes in high-pressure containers

The bushings for measuring electrodes used to carry out investigations, i.e. both individual measurements and continuous monitoring of the properties of aqueous solutions or gases under high pressure (up to about 1000 bar = 1000 MPa and above) and high temperatures (around approximately 300 DEG C) have to be specially designed. The type of insulation must be such as to prevent any potential equalisation between electrode and container and the electrically insulating material must also be resistant to the effect of temperature and chemicals. Finally, it is not only important that the detachably interconnected individual parts ensure a pressure-tight seal. A bead-type body, which is securely attached to the electrode and is clamped in the receiving bore, prevents, in particular, the possibility that the electrode might be pushed out through the bushing as a result of the high pressure.
