PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-film head which has the small loss of fast abrasion and a small drop in output due to the use of a metallic tape and suits to a video equipment, electronic computer, etc., by forming a thin film of amorphous magnetic alloy with specific composition on a base. CONSTITUTION:This films 3 and 3' of amorphous alloy shown by a formula [where T is a combination of >=1 kind among Co, or Co added in combination with Co, and transition metal elements other than Zr and Ru, X is Zr independent or Zr and >=1 kind among other vitrified elements (Si, B, etc.), and x+y+z=100 at % wherein (y) is 5-30 at % and (z) is <=8 at %] are formed on nonmagnetic substrates 2 and 2' by sputtering and worked in specific shapes to obtain core half bodies 1 and 1', which is joined together by a gap material 40 of SiO2, etc., to obtain a head. Further, a protecting material of the same quality with the bases 2 and 2' may be adhered onto the films 3 and 3'. Thus, abrasion of a medium due to a fast slide is reduced extremely. |
