PURPOSE:To automate the retrieval and to save the labor of an operator to improve the retrieving efficiency of picture information by storing the picture retrieving information to be given to a primary station or the result of retrieval in a temporary storage device and having a waiting state if the retrieval or output is impossible. CONSTITUTION:A secondary station 30 supplies the retrieval information and a retrieval request to be given to a primary station 10 from an input device 33. A controller 32 transmits its each input information to a communication controller 11 of the station 10 via a communication controller 31. At the station 10 the controller 11 receives both the retrieval request and retrieval information from the station 30 and a controller 12 checks whether the retrieval is possible with a picture storage device 16 and a magnetic storage device 17 or not. If the retrieval is impossible, the controller 12 stores the retrieval information transmitted from the station 30 in a temporary storage device 15 for waiting. |
