In a remote-control device, especially for controlling the comfort influences in the regions of the seats (4) in the cabins (2) of high-capacity commercial aircraft, having transmitters (9) arranged in the seats (4) for adjustment and switching devices for passenger-comfort devices (6) in ceiling consoles (7) above the seats (4), a control-engineering solution is sought which makes it possible to dispense with cabling, which is susceptible to defects and is labour-intensive, between the seats (4) and the ceiling consoles (7) located outside gripping range, so that variable seating is made possible, depending on the flight comfort, without any requirement for circuit changes. To this end it is provided for the ceiling consoles (7) to be equipped with transmitting/receiving devices (11) for electromagnetic radiation which can be modulated, especially for light radiation whose basic frequency is modulated, downstream from which in each case one decoding device (13) is connected for obtaining the drive signals to the actuating and switching devices (10) in the passenger-comfort devices (6); the seats (4) which are to be arranged under the ceiling consoles (7) but have no fixed allocation thereto in each case being equipped with a passive modulation transmitter (9) which can be controlled manually and requires no electrical power supply. Said transmitter is preferably a reflector having a [lacuna] which is arranged above said reflector, can be pivoted out of the beam path and can be rotated in the beam path ...
