<p>A self-unloading vessel for bulk cargo comprises a bridge (15) spanning the width of the hold. At least one excavator (13, 14) is suspended from the bridge (15). The excavator unloads the vessel hold when the bridge moves in the longitudinal direction of the vessel. The bulk material is discharged on a transverse gutter or conveyor (24a, b, 26) mounted on the bridge and extending to a longitudinal conveyor (1). The bridge (15) and the longitudinal conveyor (1) are mounted underneath the deck of the ship so that the environment is not polluted during unloading.</p> |
