PURPOSE:To easily perform gradation recording by a thermal transfer type printer, by a method wherein an ink ribbon gradually varied in ink concentration is used, and the ribbon is appropriately fed. CONSTITUTION:The ink sheet or ink ribbon 4 is provided with regions Y1-Y4 gradually varied in ink concentration for each color. By using the ink ribbon 4, an ink region having the optimum ink concentration for the color corresponding to an image to be recorded is selected, and thermal transfer recording is conducted by feeding the ink ribbon 4. |
