PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a temperature detecting device caused by adhering offset toner and bad conditions derived from the damage, by setting the temperature detecting device so that it does not contact with a fixing roller during the copying operation. CONSTITUTION:When a copying command is inputted by means of a copy signal, the electric current to magnetic pole 22 of a solenoid is cut off and a temperature detecting device 15 is attracted to a fixing member 23 by the attracting force of a spring member 20 and separated from the surface of a fixing roller 11. When the copying operation is completed and the electric current is impressed upon the magnetic pole 22 of the solenoid, the temperature detecting device 15 contacts with the surface of the fixing roller 11 by resisting the attracting force of the spring member 20 and separating from the fixing member 23. Under this copying stand-by condition, the temperature control is immediately performed and the temperature at the fixing roller 11 surface is returned to a set temperature. Therefore, damage of the temperature detecting device caused by adhering offset toner and bed conditions of the device derived from the damage are prevented. |
