PURPOSE:To enable simplification or omission of a stage for finishing a base body by polishing or laminating and finishing metallic foil at a production stage by forming the undercoating layer formed between a photosensitive layer and the base body to the film thickness larger by specific times of the max. surface roughness of the base body or above. CONSTITUTION:An undercoating layer formed on an electrophotographic receptor having the undercoating layer and a photosensitive layer on a base body is formed to the film thickness larger by >=2 times of the max. surface roughness of the base body. An aluminum pipe having, for example, 4mumax. surface roughness is used as the base body. A dispersion prepd. by dispersing thoroughly carbon black, acrylic resin, melamine resin and toluene with a roll mill is coated thereon to provide the undercoating layer and after the layer is cured by heating, an aq. PVA soln. is coated thereon and is dried to provide a resin layer of 1mu thickness which does not contain conductive powder and thereafter an ordinary photosensitive layer is formed. Since the roughness of the base body is covered by the undercoating layer, the cost for finishing the surface of the substrate is reduced. |
