PURPOSE:To simplify the folding process of a bulb by using two U-shaped glass bulbs by sealing one end of both on a substrate so as to enclose an electrode and then sealing and connecting the other end to the recess of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 made of ceramic is comprised with the bottom 1a and a cover 1b and two electrodes 4 are positioned at the cover 1b and two permeation holes 3 are provided. On the other hand, a recess 2 is formed at the position opposed to the permeation holes 3 at the bottom 1a and both are bonded by an adhesive agent. Then two U-shaped glass bulbs 6 with both end openings whose inner surface is coated with a phosphor 8. The one end is airtightly made to adhere to the substrate 1 so as to enclose the electrode 4 and the other end is made to airtightly adhere to facing a recess 2 through the permeation holes 3. As a result, the number of bulb folding processes can be set to only 1 by connecting with the recess 2 using the two U-shaped tube 6 and production can be simplified. |
