METHOD FOR MEASURING SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF ROLLING MILL ROLL

PURPOSE:To perform the plate crown control of a rolled copper plate and to increase the yield of copper plate products by measuring the temperature of the surface of the roll of a rolling mill by combination of an image pickup device and a thermometer and grasping the distribution of temperature of roll surface in longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A screw bar 2 is provided parallel to a roll 1 of the finishing stand of a rolling mill and a protection probe 3 that works as an image pickup device having a light inlet and a radiation thermometer 5 are attached. The protection probe 3 and the thermometer 5 are made movable forward and backward by rotating the screw bar 2 normally and reversely by a driving device 4. A roll temperature measurement signal from the thermometer 5 is inputted to a temperature distribution judging section 7A of an arithmetic unit 7. A light signal of the surface of the roll 1 entered the protection probe 3 is sent to a camera 9 and inputted to the temperature distribution judging section 7A. Temperature distribution over the whole length of the roll 1 is operated in the arithmetic unit 7. Roll cooling water 16 is regulated by the result of operation to prevent plate crown of rolled steel plate perfectly and prevent occurrence of defective product due to plate crown, and the yield is increased.
