The triggering device has a triggering element which is situated in a housing (1), is capable of linear motion and comprises a tube (4) and a trigger pin (7). A spring (8) serving to move the triggering elements (4, 7) is tensioned by a toggle lever (9, 10) comprising an upper clamping strap (9), which is secured pivotally on the housing (1), and a lower clamping strap (10), which is secured pivotally on the tube (4). The toggle lever (9, 10) is normally held in the clamped condition by a locking device (15, 16) comprising a trigger catch (15) mounted on the housing (1) and a pin (16) mounted on the inside of the lower clamping strap (10). The triggering device can be triggered manually or electromagnetically. The state of the triggering device can be transmitted to a signal control centre by electric switches. The triggering device exerts an increased opening force on the valve of the fire-extinguishing system.
