PURPOSE:To obtain a tangle extract having excellent nutritive value and preservability, and suitable as a drink, etc., by immersing the leaves and/or stalks of dried tangle in water, and bubbling nitrogen gas in the immersion liquid during the latter stage of the immersion process to expel the dissolved oxygen. CONSTITUTION:The leaves and/or stalks of dried tangle is immersed in water for about 5-20hr. The temperature of water is preferably somewhat lower than the normal temperature. During the latter stage of the immersion process, nitrogen gas is bubbled in the immersion liquid to expel oxygen dissolved in the liquid as far as possible. The fermentation of the tangle extract can be prevented by this process. The obtained tangle extract is put into a vessel such as bottle. If the extract is required to be preserved for a long period, it is preferable to fill the unfilled space in the bottle with an inert gas such as nitrogen gas, etc.; however, the preservation in an inert atmosphere is unnecessary in most cases because the tangle extract is almost free from dissolved oxygen. |
