PURPOSE:To prevent a system-down caused by abnormality of an input device and to reduce the burden of an operator by providing a check means for discriminating a state of a key switch of the input device when an electric power supply is turned on and deciding a prescribed case to be abnormal. CONSTITUTION:A body system part 25 of a word processor and an input device 27 are connected by a cable 26, and an on/off information of a key switch placed like a matrix is detected, is brought to signal processing and is transferred to the system part 25 by the device 27. A CPU10, a boot ROM 11, a program memory 12 and a flexible device 4 are provided on this system part 25, and when an electric power supply is turned on, a boot ROM start 30, a memory check 31 and an input device check 32 are executed successively in accordance with procedures determined in advance. In this state, in case when an on- state is detected by a key switch group by the check 32, it is decided to be abnormal, the burden of an operator is reduced, and a system-down caused by abnormality of the input device 25 is prevented. |
