PURPOSE:To prevent the infiltration of air into a pressure chamber from a reservoir to disturb the extension and shrinkage of an oil hydraulic lifter to a predetermined size and prevent the occurrence of tappet hammering sounds when starting an engine by constituting so as to prevent the working oil from flowing out of the reservoir chamber while the engine is stopped. CONSTITUTION:The first reservoir chamber 26 partitioned by the outer cylinder section 24 and the inner cylinder section 25 of the first body 22 of an oil hydraulic lifter 10 receives the working oil through an oil feed passage 27. One end 30 of the pipe-type second reservoir chamber 29 with a shape rotated by 360 deg. in the first reservoir 26 is opened to the first reservoir 26, the other end 31 is opened to an oil passage 32 formed between the first body 22 and the second body 23, and the transmission of oil to the pressure chamber 37 in a plunger 33 is controlled by a ball-type check valve 42 energized by a spring 41. Even though the oil hydraulic lifter 10 is slantly fitted with the oil feed passage 27 located on the lower side, the oil is secured in the second reservoir 29 while the engine is stopped, thus causing no problem when starting the engine. |
