PURPOSE:To obtain easily a television picture whose contrast ratio is good by scanning a magnetic thin film with a beam spot whose area is varied in accordance with magnitude of a television video signal, executing the magnetic recording and irradiating a linear polarized light to the magnetic thin film. CONSTITUTION:A television picture is thermally recorded by executing the scanning varying an area of a spot of a beam Eb in accordance with magnitude of a television video signal inputted to an input terminal 4, by a spot area control signal generating circuit 6. A light from a xenon lamp 18 of a light source and said light reflected by a reflector 19 are given to a polarizer 15 through an infrared-ray eliminating filter 17 and a lens 16, and are converted to a linear polarized light by the polarizer 15. The linear polarized light is reflected by a half mirror 12 and irradiates the whole surface of a target T. Also, the linear polarized light becomes a reflected light in a state that the polarizing face of a magnetic thin film 1 is rotated, and thereafter, is given to a projection image forming optical system 13 through the half mirror 12. As for the light emitted from the optical system 13, only a specified polarized light is extracted by a detector 14 and forms an image on a screen S. |
