PURPOSE:To prevent the looseness or slippage of a pad section from occurring and reduce the weight by constituting the pad section with a fiber/light alloy composite material and forming a ceramic flame coating layer on its surface in a rocker arm using a light alloy material for a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The pad section 6 of a substrate section 1 made of a light alloy material is constituted of a fiber/light alloy composite material 7 and a ceramic flame coating layer 8 is formed on its surface. The compounding ratio of fibers in the composite material 7 is made about 5-50%, by volume. Si3N4 (silicon nitride) is most suitable for the ceramic material. About 0.5-1.5mm. are preferable as the thickness of the ceramic flame coating layer 8. A thickness of less than 0.5mm. can not provide a sufficient abrasion resistance, and on the other hand to form the ceramic flame coating layer 8 beyond 1.5mm. in thickness results in merely prolonging the time required for flame coating and impairing producivity. |
