PURPOSE:To perform the adjustment of damping force due to the change of the opening of a needle valve by a simple structure wherein a plurality of recesses, the depths of which are different from one another, are formed on a supporting member, which supports the rear end of an adjusting rod to advance and retreat the needle valve so as to selectively engage the rear end of the adjusting rod with said each recess. CONSTITUTION:The interior of a cylinder 13 is partitioned by a piston 15 into a front chamber A and a rear chamber B. A piston rod 19 is provided with a communicating hole 31 to communicate said both chambers A and B with each other and a needle valve 34 to control the passage area of the hole 31. An adjusting rod 35, which advances and retreats the needle valve 34 and yet the rear end of which is adjustably supported by a supporting member 39 provided at a mounting part 25, is inserted in the shaft bore 29 of the piston rod 19. In such a structure as mentioned above, a plurality of recesses 41, the depths of which are different from one another, are disposed in a longitudinal array on the supporting member 39. Due to the above-mentioned structure, when the recess 41, with which the adjusting rod 35 engages, is changed-over by actuating the supporting member 39, the position of the rear end of the adjusting rod 35 is changed and consequently the adjusting rod 35 is advanced and retreated within the shaft bore 29, resulting in enabling to change the opening of the needle valve 34. |
