This unit is constituted by a self-tightening clamp comprising, in combination, a hook-shaped main jaw 5 which envelops the largest portion of the periphery of the cable 3, including its upper zone, a moveable jaw 6 which, being made in one body with a sleeve in which the end of the strap is crimped, is articulated to the main one 5 so that simple traction of the strap tends to close the clamp, thereby applying the moveable jaw 6 against the cable 3, and complementary means 12 for mechanically tightening the moveable jaw 6 against the stationary jaw 5. <IMAGE>
