The gantry crane moves along rails 11 by means of a motor 12. It comprises fastening means 34 which are themselves connected to lifting means 38, 39, 41 to 44 by means of which a part undergoing treatment may be in an appropriate low position (part 2b) for it to be dipped into a treatment bath 3, or in a high position (part 2a). The gantry crane comprises a partition 14 closed at the bottom by a drawer 29 and in which there are nozzles for spraying a rinsing product over the part 2a as it leaves the bath. The drips fall into the drawer 29 and then into a collector 33. Use as a means of reducing the number of or altogether eliminating the rinsing baths. <IMAGE>
