PURPOSE:To measure the tightening force of an explosion-proof band by spacing two marks at a preset interval in the longitudinal direction of the explosion-proof band before it is stretched and comparing the gap between the two marks with the gap after the band is stretched. CONSTITUTION:A marking-off line 171 that becomes one mark is written by a marking- off pin 14 on a part which becomes one side when an explosion-proof band 15 consisting of a metal band prior to winding round the external surface of a panel side wall section is wound by putting the marking-off pin 13 of a gage 11 in contact with an arbitrary point 16 that becomes the other mark. The explosion-proof band 15 is heated, expanded, and wound along the panel 18 side wall section of a CRT and both ends are welded, cooled, and stretched. Then a marking-off line 191 is written by the marking- off pin 14 toward the previous marking-off line 171 by putting the marking-off pin 13 of the gage 11 in contact with the point 16. The gap 201 between both lines 171 and 191 is read by a magnifying mirror and tightening force is read from a straight line indicating the relationship between the resistance to pulling force of the explosion-proof band 15 and its elongation. Since the CRT after measurement is acceptable as the product, the total number of CRTs can be tested. |
