PURPOSE:To accomplish a specific work safely even on a steel tower poor in the footing with an easy adjustment of the length of a working rod as desired made possible by loosely inserting into a short rod a stop material comprising an insertion part with the sectional area thereof gradually increasing from the tip to the base end thereof and a grip part connected to the insertion part in such a manner as to be free to slide. CONSTITUTION:When cleaning an insulator, a working rod 1 is reduced and pulled upto a steel tower. Then, rods 1b and 1c are pulled out from rods 1a and 1b to be stretched to the appropriate length and stop material 3 is forcibly inserted between the rods 1a and 1b and 1b and 1c holding a grip section 3b. Here, the sectional area of the insertion part 3a increases gradually from the tip to the base end as mentioned above, a wedging action that causes the stop material 3 to be inserted between the rods to connect them firmly by a slide contact friction. Thus, after the working rod 1 is adjusted to the desired length, a worker holds the rear end of the working rod 1 to bring a cleaner 2 at the tip thereof whereby an insulator 4 is cleaned up. |
