The dental instrument which is particularly intended for root canal treatment comprises a treatment needle (1) terminating in a shaft (3) and an essentially cylindrical handle (5) which has an axial receiving duct (7) for the shaft (3) and can be fastened on the shaft (3) of the treatment needle (1) at a selectable distance from its tip (15) which is remote from the shaft. The handle is made of metal and is fixed to the shaft (3) by permanent radial deformation. A or an angled-off section (11) at the shaft end ensures connection fixed against rotation between the treatment needle (1) and the handle (5). A security cord (13) can also be pinched together with the shaft (3). Pincers are provided which fix the handle axially before the pinching operation therefor. <IMAGE> |
