The identification of control handles on an appliance for the storage, metering and addition of liquid washing or rinsing agents held in transport containers is to be so simple and reliable that mistakes in assigning washing or rinsing agents to specific washing or rinsing processes can be prevented as far as possible. This problem is solved in that the transport containers carry a label (52) with particulars of the type and/or metering quantities and/or concentration of the washing or rinsing agent, and the control handles are assigned a zone (72) for affixing the labels. <IMAGE>
