PURPOSE:To facilitate manipulation of a throttle valve by installing a throttle valve, which opens and closes the suction hole of a carburettor transversing in its diametric direction, outside the suction hole about the diametric direction, by bearing it with a pivot supported by the carburettor body and thereby reducing the sliding resistance of the throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:At a carburettor body 14 provided with a suction hole 12 having circular profile, a plate-shaped throttle valve 16 is installed, which works in a single piece with a pivot 26 mounted in an overhung part 22 rotatably. A return spring 38 is installed at one of the ends of this pivot 26 to energize said valve 16 in the direction of full closing. At the carburettor body 14 is formed a flat sector-shaped gap 24 to receive the valve 16. Even though the valve 16 advances in the suction hole 12 to cause the suction negative pressure acting on the valve 16, the force of this action is chiefly borne by the pivot 26 supported by said overhung part 22, so that the frictional resistance of the valve 16 with the wall surface of said gap 24. Thus only small operating force is required to manipulate the throttle valve 16. |
