For the mounting of swing-down tailboards of commercial vehicles, there is provided a hinge which consists of a hinge bearing (11) fastened to a tailboard (14) and of a hinge pin (12) which is fastened to a platform (13) and which is inserted into the hinge bearing (11). To safeguard this hinge against unintentional separation, there is formed at the free end of the hinge pin (12) projecting from the hinge bearing (11) a slot (20), in which a blocking element (22) designed as a two-armed lever (24) is mounted so as to be loosely movable about an axle (21). One lever arm (23) is longer than the other lever arm (25), so that the blocking element automatically assumes a vertical position as a result of gravity and thus prevents the hinge bearing (11) from undesirably moving out from the hinge pin (12). To detach a tailboard (14) from or attach it to a platform (13), the blocking element (22) has to be set horizontally. <IMAGE>
