In the case of a maintenance-free plastic post with metal reinforcement, for lights and traffic signs for example, in order to avoid, in a simple and cost-saving manner, the expensive reinforcement in the form of a steel tube, until now deemed necessary in practice, and to make do with a reinforcement in the form of a bar or wire, the invention proposes constructing the post in a way known per se from an outer tube 2 and an inner tube 1 of smooth, impact-resistant plastic and filling the intermediate space 3 with a filling composition which firmly encloses and firmly holds the reinforcing elements 4 in such a way that, when bending loads occur on the post, they cannot cut into the core and which avoids during production the occurrence of air inclusions even at points which are not easily accessible. For this purpose, the filling composition comprises a mortar of a fine mineral cement with a small proportion of readily dispersible plastic, which in the pouring state is particularly fluid and thereafter, as it cures, encloses the reinforcing elements firmly and immovably. <IMAGE>
