Process for manufacturing a thermally insulated conduit

In a process for manufacturing a thermally insulated conduit, consisting of a metal tube, an insulating layer of foamed plastic and an outer jacket, in order to obtain a readily flexible conduit the outer jacket is formed of a ductile tape, the overlapping tape edges of which are adhered together. The wall thickness of the tape is between 0.08 and 0.40 mm. During the production of the insulating layer the outer jacket of the ductile tape is externally supported. A flexible, closed-cell polyurethane foam is used as the foam.
