The object of the invention is a method in accordance with Patent (Patent Application P 3226306.6) for separating heavy-metal ions from crude phosphate, in which the crude phosphate is treated with halogens, hydrogen halides, halogen-yielding substances or a mixture thereof at pressures between 0.001 and 50 bar and temperatures within the range of 400 DEG to 1100 DEG C.
