PURPOSE:To produce a sealing member which has high adhesion and sealing strength by subjecting an Fe-Ni-Cr alloy having a specific compsn. to hot working and/or cold working then heating the alloy in an oxidative atmosphere and subjecting the alloy to an oxidation treatment. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Ni-Cr alloy contg. (by weight) 40-55%, more preferably 40-50% Ni, 3-8%, more preferably 5-7% Cr and if necessary, contg. further 0.02-1.5% Al, or 0.001-2% rare earth element or 0.05-1.5% >=1 kinds among Ti, V, Nb, Ta, Z or 0.1-3% Si is subjected to cold working after hot working such as forging, rolling or the like. The worked alloy is subjected to an oxidation treatment on the surface under the condition of 200-1,300 deg.C and 10sec- 180min in an oxidative atmosphere, whereby a sealing member to be sealed to soft glass is obtd. The above-mentioned alloy is preferably regulated to <=200ppm O and <=200ppm N and is preferably oxidized preliminarily by heating the same in wet hydrogen before or after the above-mentioned oxidation. |
